Dos Bayos, oil, sold, thank you, headed to Tulsa Okl! these horses live between Fritch and Amarillo Tx, I loved how they stopped to look at me.
We are blessed
to live
where wind
and stars
and colors
from Above
inspire my artwork.

The Panhandle
of Texas
may not have
mountains,
but it has freedom
and room to roam.

                           A LITTLE ABOUT THE ARTIST

Colorado pine mingles in my blood with Texas sage. I've followed elk tracks & cut willow branches for fishing poles. I've roped steers, brought calves into this world, hauled hay, mended fences, added oil to windmill gears and watched sunsets drift with the wind. Dirt and sweat never bother me, but I appreciate the perfume of roses and love the smell of horse hair as it glistens with sunbeams!
My children have flown from their cocoon and follow their own dreams. My art stayed quiet while I nursed for 28 years to help raise a family and now it comes to surface.

The love of nature and animals with expression will be found in most of my pieces.

Mom claims I was born with a pencil in my hand, I doubt that. But my 1st award was for a Smoky the Bear Poster contest in Colorado as a 2nd grader. It won 3rd in state.  Now as an adult I feel honored that my art & photography has been awarded at juried shows.

My work has found homes in Japan, France, Tortolla BVI, Canada & several states of the USA. It hangs in the Warp & Woof Gallery at Sunset Center, Horsefeathers Studio, PAC art galleries in Amarillo, Frank's French Bakery, Pam's Quilt shop on old Route 66, and G'ma's Mt. Cookies in Estes Park Co., and The Old Trail Gallery in Las Animas, Colorado, exhibits my art & cards.

One project was a fiberglass horse addition to the Amarillo list of Hoof-beats honoring the AQHA.  Murals in homes, baby's room, kitchens, & on outdoor walls have also flowed from my brushes.

Art "work" doesn't seem the right word for something I love to do! Mostly a self-taught artist, I've studied through workshops under instructors as Ben Konis, who is so greatly missed, Mike Mahon who's patience & gentle teaching is appreciated, Ramon Kelley, and with Rick Howell who's words have made a difference.  Guido Frick of Germany also added to my artistic path as I continue to strive to illuminate the feelings I wish conveyed upon my canvas.
Natural talent may be held captive until the knowledge of medium is turned loose to run.  I am thankful for each person's help & inspiration! My friends and family that love my art and encourage my growth continue to be a blessing, I thank you all.

If you enjoy my style of art, consignments are welcome. I also do ranch & animal photography and sculpt.

I appreciate your time to browse my website. Please let me know if you would like more information on custom work. My guest book is available for comments.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the tip of my paint brushes!

Color your dreams before they fade.

hello from Seoul Korea!  Goodmorning from the wonderful city of where we are for a few days.  This is easier to get to than my email, so I write from here, this day in May, 2009.

The people are lovely, gracious and beautiful. The sights varied with landscapes of towers like lego mega cities one follows another in endless procession across the hills; at their feet spread flooded fields of rice with neighbor fields of grapes and other unknown sprouts.
Farmers walk or manuver tractors in the mud. Streams of buses carry people past skyscrapers, the Seoul Tower peeks from mist. Girls walk in high heels. The women & young men look like the fashion magazines have opened their pages and people walked out.

Cars, buses, small delivery trucks, no pickups..., no ball hitches, no trailers, millions of small new clean shiney cars.  The subway opens to the skies in places of mingled odor from street venders, silkworm casings in a bowl, kimchi with its hot flavors, hand pulled honey forms into thousdands strings with cornstarch for a lucious snack and other oddities of delights for nose & eye.

We go to the Korean Art museum today, so many trips to take, so many paths call to us, ahhh, but sadly so little time.
We've had the most wonderful person help us, a young woman who transalated for Mark's lecture took time to go with us two days. We will miss her! Now we must run, the path hollers loud for us to find new sights today!

Annyeong geseyo  goodbye for now

Storm clouds build,

quiet prevails

except for the occasional sound

of giants.

Their armor clashes and horses rear.

Unseen, their breath I feel.
